Job summary

The University of Austin (UATX) seeks talented, energetic, and productive individuals to help us develop America’s newest university into an inspiring model of best practices in student formation. Open to candidates at any academic rank, with a focus on Engineering and Sciences education.

Faculty will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• PhD in an engineering discipline is required.
• Strong teaching ability is required.
• A record of engineering research or advanced work in technology is expected.
• Multidisciplinary viewpoint and breadth of interest within the hard sciences are valued.
• Ability to mentor students in engineering-related projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses across engineering disciplines as part of the Engineering Concentration.
• Mentor and supervise student projects and theses.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities, disseminating results through publications and conferences.
• Contribute to building an innovative, low-bureaucracy academic culture at UATX.
• Design and deliver a major project course comprising 27 quarter hours.
