Job summary

CSKT Natural Resources Department seeks an Engineering & Procurement Contract Specialist in Ronan, MT. This full-time role oversees all contracting activities within the division and serves as the contract development expert.

The incumbent will manage processes in government contracting, ensure compliance with tribal and federal policies, and maintain necessary licenses and safety training. A pre-hire drug test and six-month probation apply for new CSKT employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, contract management, economics, engineering, finance, law, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant work experience.
  • Significant knowledge in contract administration and government contracting.
  • Knowledge of Tribal and Federal Policy related to project solicitation and contracting.
  • Valid driver's license; must complete certified defensive driving course on hire and every three years.
  • Wear Tribal Government identification and safety gear during field activities.

ENGINEERING & PROCUREMENT CONTRACT SPECIALIST

DIVISION OF ENGINEERING & WATER RESOURCES/DEWR COMPLEXNATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT - RONAN, MT

The Engineering & Procurement Contract Specialist is a full-time specialized technical position under the direct supervision of the Compact Support Officer and the indirect supervision of the division manager. This position is responsible for all aspects of contracting within the division, and also serves as the contract development expert within the division.

Incumbent must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, contract management, economics, engineering, finance, law or related field, and have a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant of work experience.

Must have significant knowledge in contract administration and government contracting, and knowledge of general business practices, contracting mechanisms, and Tribal and Federal Policy related to project solicitation and contracting.

Required to have a valid driver's license, and to successfully complete a certified defensive driving course approved by the department upon hire, and every three (3) years thereafter.

Must wear Tribal Government identification and safety gear during field activities.

FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS.

All applicants are required to submit a Tribal Employment Application (Resumes may be submitted but may not replace or supplement the official Tribal Employment Application), copies of relevant academic transcripts, and/or certificates, copy of valid State driver's license, and if applicable, please submit proof of enrollment from a Federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT, and if claiming Veteran's preference, a copy of DD214 must be submitted.

This position is not a (TDP) within definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by CSKT must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.

Salary range is $27.92 to $32.09 per hour, including benefits:
