Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks an Engineering Process Technician for Sample Cleaning in Santa Clara, CA, on an 18-month contract-to-hire basis. The role includes preparing samples for TEM/FIB analysis, operating metrology tools, and coordinating with engineering on job status.

Required 1–2 years in an engineering process environment and a technical diploma. Night shift 9pm–7:30am, 4 days at 10 hours, with comprehensive lab safety procedures and SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in engineering process tech or semiconductor lab environments.
• Technical diploma required.
• Willingness to work night shift and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for experiments by cleaning, mounting/unmounting, loading FOUPs and prepping jobs for evaluation.
• Prepare TEM lamella samples using FIB and optimize prep procedures.
• Operate metrology tools (FIB/TEM) to analyze CD, EDS and imaging quality; complete assigned jobs under supervision.
• Understand SEM/FIB/TEM principles and perform routine maintenance (flash, plasma clean, calibrations).
• Coordinate with engineering on job status and with vendors for equipment maintenance.
• Order equipment and supplies and interface with requestors to communicate results.

Location Santa Clara, United States Sector Manufacturing & Production Salary $27 to $31 per hour 18-month contract to hire role

Sample Cleaning SemiconductorEngineering Process Technician neede for an 18-month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh’s client located in Santa Clara, California.

Shifts Available: Grave yard shift 9pm-7:30am Monday-Thursday. 4 day 10 hours.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Prepares samples for experiments include cleaning samples, mount / un-mount samples, loading FOUPs, prepare jobs for experimentation, to help evaluates performance of process system
• Prepare transmission electron microscope (TEM) lamella samples by focused ion beam (FIB) and help to optimize sample prep procedure and conditions, identify cutting location based on pattern instructions.
• Operate metrology tools in FIB & TEM lab to help understand cross section or top view critical dimension (CD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis, take high-quality imaging pending on job assignment, identify all of patterns of interest, understand image quality requirement and sample/beam interaction to determine optimized condition, finish requested jobs under limited supervision after training.
• Understand basic scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/Focused Ion Beam (FIB)/Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) principle.
• Perform SEM/FIB/TEM system, perform routine maintenance procedures, flash, plasma clean, image calibrations etc.
• Perform routine shut down procedure.
• Identify problem put tool down and call for service.
• Coordinates instrument repair and maintenance.
• Order equipment and supplies, and coordinates with vendors and purchasing.
• Interface with requestors, understand their detail requirement, and communicate on results,
• Coordinates with engineering on job request status.
• Help lab on monitoring job in the queue and maintaining lab throughput.
• Document redo and lesson learn to lower redo rate
• Pick up and drop off customer coupons from other labs if needed
• Adhere to lab protocol and SOPs
• Operate semiconductor process and metrology equipment in a lab environment
• Operate metrology equipment and verify and upload data to network
• Monitor data and track performance of metrology equipment and production activities per equipment requirement

• Understand written instructions to perform assigned tasks
• Create and update procedures and documentation
• Perform basic operations of Microsoft Outlook and Office software.
• Follow safety protocol and process
• Work shift may include compressed work week schedule to meet the production
