Job summary

Yoh Services LLC in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Gaveyard Semiconductor Engineering Process Technician for an 18-month contract to hire. The role supports TEM/FIB/SEM sample prep and metrology in a lab setting, working Fri-Sun 5pm-5am on weekend nights.

The ideal candidate has a college engineering degree, basic data analytics, and hands-on lab experience in a semiconductor environment. 0–2 years of experience is preferred; semiconductor familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in materials, electrical, or chemical engineering.
• Basic data analytics skills.
• Hands-on lab operations experience, including sample handling.
• Team player with good communication.
• 0–2 years of semiconductor experience or exposure.
• Knowledge of TEM/FIB/SEM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares samples for experiments, including cleaning, mounting, loading FOUPs, and preparing jobs for experiments.
• Prepare TEM lamella samples by FIB and optimize sample prep procedures.
• Operate metrology tools in FIB/TEM lab to analyze CD, EDS, and images.
• Understand SEM/FIB/TEM principles and perform routine maintenance.
• Perform SEM/FIB/TEM operations and routine shutdown procedures, and coordinate repairs.
• Order equipment and supplies; interface with vendors and requestors; communicate results.
• Monitor lab workflow and maintain throughput; document redo and lessons learned.
• Coordinate with engineering on sample priorities and status.

Gaveyard Semiconductor Engineering Process Technician needed for an 18-month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Clara, California.

Pay Rate $32 to $37 per hour

Shift available- Weekend Night Shift, Fri-Sun, 5pm-5am.

What You Will Be Doing:

• FIB Technician Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares samples for experiments include cleaning samples, mount / un-mount samples, loading FOUPs, prepare jobs for experimentation, to help evaluates performance of process system
• Prepare transmission electron microscope (TEM) lamella samples by focused ion beam (FIB) and help to optimize sample prep procedure and conditions, identify cutting location based on pattern instructions.
• Operate metrology tools in FIB & TEM lab to help understand cross section or top view critical dimension (CD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis, take high-quality imaging pending on job assignment, identify all of patterns of interest, understand image quality requirement and sample/beam interaction to determine optimized condition, finish requested jobs under limited supervision after training.
• Understand basic scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/Focused Ion Beam (FIB)/Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) principle.
• Perform SEM/FIB/TEM system, perform routine maintenance procedures, flash, plasma clean, image calibrations etc.
• Perform routine shut down procedure. Identify problem put tool down and call for service. Coordinates instrument repair and maintenance.
• Order equipment and supplies, and coordinates with vendors and purchasing. Interface with requestors, understand their detail requirement, and communicate on results, Coordinates with engineering on job request status.
• Help lab on monitoring job in the queue and maintaining lab throughput.
• Document redo and lesson learn to lower redo rate
• Pick up and drop off customer coupons from other labs if needed * Adhere to lab protocol and SOP's
• Operate semiconductor process and metrology equipment in a lab environment
• Supporting Clean Room Metrology Lab operations
• Coordinates with engineering on samples priorities
• Mounting, dismounting, cleaning and handling customer samples - coupons and wafers
• Tracking and maintaining order of the incoming jobs and their execution
• Knowledgeably operates laboratory process equipment and instrumentation
• Execution of metrology jobs by using developed BKMs and available recipes on SEM metrology tools
• Performing analysis of metrology images with company proprietary algorithms and SW, with predefined (available) recipes
• Report preparation according to predefined template
• Interface with requestors, understand their detail requirement, and communicate on results; help lab on monitoring wafer in process (WIP) and maintaining throughpu
• Interface with HW team, HW troubleshooting, execute tool maintenance

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Have a college degree in Material, electrical, chemistry engineering, or a related field.
• Basic data analytics skill
• Able to be hands-on for lab operations, including sample handing and equipment operations.
• Team player
• Semiconductor experience is nice to have, but not a must.
• Have 0-2 years of experience
