Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity in designing, developing, and/or operating advanced diagnostic systems for fusion or plasma physics experiments.
• Experience in data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation using scientific software and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Familiarity with Computer Aided Design and Analysis software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to diagnostic systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, present findings to diverse audiences, and contribute to scientific publications and proposals.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures related to fusion experiments and diagnostics; and
• Knowledge of fusion stellarator concepts, including device physics and operational requirements, is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the conceptualization, design, construction, and deployment of an individual diagnostic(s) to ensure they meet technical feasibility.
• Support development and application of data analysis and/or models for plasma diagnostics.
• Support mechanical, nuclear and/or electrical engineering applications for plasma diagnostics.
• Participate in planning, execution, and analysis of experiments
