Job summary

Oregon State University College of Engineering is recruiting part-time Peer Tutors to serve as student leaders and learning partners for engineering students in Corvallis, Ecampus, and Cascades campuses.

You will provide one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring in assigned subjects, attend mandatory orientations and workshops, and help peers develop study strategies while fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a college, university, or high school program.
• Must meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible.
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-to-peer tutoring support in assigned subject areas, in both in-person and online formats.
• Offer academic support through scheduled sessions and drop-ins.
• Welcome and support all students seeking tutoring, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
• Help students learn study habits and strategies.
• Serve as a resource and role model for student success in engineering.
• Attend and engage with mandatory orientations, team meetings, professional development opportunities and workshops.
• Regularly engage in community-building activities and reflective practices with fellow tutors.
• Use tutor tracking systems to manage appointments, log student contact, and report data.
• Communicate proactively with the COE Peer Tutoring Coordinator about scheduling conflicts or student concerns.
