Job summary

Amgen Inc. in the United States invites applications for a Summer 2027 Grad Intern - Operations - Engineering. The approximately 13-week program can be remote or onsite at New Albany, OH; Holly Springs, NC; South San Francisco, CA; or Thousand Oaks, CA.

Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting engineering projects, capital delivery, and digital tool development. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited degree program and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Enrollment in MBA/Master’s/PharmD/PhD program and completion of first year before internship starts.

Responsibilities

• Lead or independently drive a defined project workstream from problem framing through recommendations and implementation planning.
• Partner with project design teams and subject-matter experts to support engineering project development, plans, standards, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
• Analyze technical feasibility, lifecycle impacts, costs, schedules, risks, and benefits to inform capital-project decisions and business cases.
• Assess engineering, construction, and operational processes to identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency, innovation, and risk reduction.
• Develop, evaluate, or improve digital, automation, data, or AI-enabled tools and dashboards that enhance engineering workflows and decision-making.
• Apply structured problem-solving and data-analysis methods to translate complex information into clear insights and practical recommendations.
• Support EHS initiatives that strengthen compliance, environmental stewardship, workforce well-being, and operational risk management.
• Prepare and present project updates, findings, and recommendations to Engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
