Job summary

Henry County Water Authority in Georgia is seeking a senior engineering professional to manage plan review and design oversight for water and wastewater projects. Reporting to the Engineering Division Manager, the role coordinates development plan submittals and supervises engineering staff to meet HCWA standards.

The ideal candidate will oversee technical reviews, lead field coordination, and drive cost estimates and schedules for capital projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a closely related field; five years related experience and/or training in the water/wastewater field; three years in planning and project management with two years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on engineering design experience with water distribution systems and wastewater collection and conveyance systems.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License; Level 2 Sediment & Erosion Control Certification; Confined Space and Competent Person Certifications; Georgia Professional Engineer preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, evaluate the work of engineering staff to achieve goals and objectives and develop/monitor plans and procedures.
• Oversee plan review and technical evaluation of drawings and system designs for water and sewer projects.
• Supervise analysis and resolution of design issues affecting water distribution and wastewater systems; review studies and designs for compliance with HCWA standards.
• Evaluate sources of water pressure and fire flow concerns; participate in field activities and adjust valves as needed.
• Represent HCWA at meetings with developers, engineers, and city/county agencies to explain standards and procedures.
• Identify rehabilitation/replacement projects and coordinate with staff; prepare cost estimates for engineered projects.
• Track project budgets and maintain system records and reports; ensure data links to GIS.
