Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Global Video Engineering team responsible for building and maintaining platforms used to operate, monitor, analyze, and improve NBCUniversal's video ecosystem across Live, Linear, and VOD. The role focuses on developing a centralized video intelligence platform with real-time visibility and AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in senior or leadership roles.
• Experience leading large, production-scale systems and engineering teams.
• Strong distributed systems and microservices architecture knowledge.
• Experience with data platforms and ETL/ELT patterns.
• Cloud-native architectures and API design expertise.
• Observability, metrics, logs, and monitoring experience.
• Familiarity with machine learning/AI concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an inclusive, high-performing engineering organization for platforms, data services, APIs, and tooling.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for a centralized video intelligence platform.
• Lead engineers in designing scalable systems for high-volume telemetry data.
• Define architecture for real-time and historical data processing, pipelines, and data lakes.
• Establish patterns for data integration, quality, governance, and observability.
• Grow the team and coach engineers; foster ownership and collaboration.
• Drive best practices across software design, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
• Ensure availability, resiliency, latency, and cost-optimized solutions.
• Collaborate across Video Engineering, Operations, Data, Cloud Infra, etc.
• Champion safe use of AI/ML against operational data.
