Techtronic Industries Power Equipment in Anderson, SC seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Value Engineering team and drive cost reduction and product optimization across Outdoor Power Equipment. You will develop engineering talent, own the savings roadmap, and prioritize opportunities to align with financial objectives.

The role requires 8–10 years in engineering leadership with strong manufacturing insight and the ability to balance technical feasibility with business impact.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 8–10 years in engineering, product development, or technical project leadership.
  • 2+ years leading projects or engineering teams.
  • Experience leading cost reduction, continuous improvement, or product development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and supplier development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with leadership; able to present data-driven recommendations.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers across VE, cost reduction, and product optimization.
  • Own VE project portfolio, savings roadmap, and financial objectives including forecasting and resource planning.
  • Identify VE opportunities via teardowns, benchmarking, design analysis, supplier collaboration, and process improvements.
  • Partner with Product Management, Global Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations to implement solutions while preserving performance and value.
  • Lead tradeoff discussions on cost, performance, and manufacturability; provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Establish processes for opportunity identification, savings tracking, and status reporting.
  • Ensure product changes, alternate materials, and supplier changes are validated through testing and engineering analysis.
  • Communicate project status, realized savings, forecasts, risks, and needs to leadership; foster ownership and accountability.

Job Description:About TTITechtronic Industries Power Equipment, a subsidiary of TTI, has an opening in its Anderson, SC office for an Engineering Manager who will support our Value Engineering team and be responsible for developing engineering talent, driving cost reduction and product optimization initiatives, and delivering measurable business results across the Outdoor Power Equipment portfolio. We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including tuition assistance, 401(k), medical/dental/vision coverage, vacation, and holidays.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers responsible for value engineering, cost reduction, product optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple product categories.Own the Value Engineering project portfolio, savings roadmap, forecasting, and annual financial objectives by prioritizing opportunities, allocating resources, validating savings, and driving execution against business goals.Identify and execute value engineering opportunities through product teardowns, benchmarking, design analysis, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing process improvements.Partner with Product Management, Global Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations to implement solutions while maintaining product performance, quality, reliability, and user value.Lead technical and business tradeoff discussions related to cost, performance, quality, schedule, and manufacturing feasibility. Provide clear data-driven recommendations to leadership.Establish and maintain processes for opportunity identification, savings tracking, project execution, and status reporting.Ensure product changes, alternative materials, components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are properly evaluated and validated through testing and engineering analysis.Communicate project status, realized savings, financial forecasts, risks, and resource needs to leadership while fostering a culture of total ownership, accountability, and one-team mentality.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.Minimum 8 years, preferred 10 years of relevant engineering, product development, or technical project leadership experience.Minimum 2 years of experience leading projects, technical teams, or engineering personnel.Experience leading cost reduction, continuous improvement, or product development initiatives.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product cost drivers, materials, supplier development, and engineering change management.Proven ability to lead engineering teams and influence cross functional stakeholders.Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate engineering decisions through both technical and commercial perspectives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation of technical and business recommendations to leadership.Ability to communicate effectively across global teams and international partners.Works with a sense of urgency, initiative, accountability, and ownership.Preferred QualificationsExperience with product teardowns, benchmarking, cost modeling, and designing for cost.Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and supplier networks.Demonstrated history of delivering measurable cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives.Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and balancing resources against aggressive business objectives.TravelUp to 10% travel (international and domestic).
