Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of large-scale ultrapure water and wastewater treatment facilities supporting Starlink manufacturing.

You will drive safety, regulatory compliance (EPA, NPDES), coordinate with process, civil, electrical teams and EPC partners, and guide budgets over $50M while advancing ZLD and advanced treatment tech.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM
8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment design, construction, and operations for industrial facilities
2+ years of experience leading engineering teams

Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle of UPW and wastewater treatment facilities, from design through commissioning and ongoing operations, ensuring environmental compliance
Support wastewater systems for multi-GW thin-film solar PV, PCB, and silicon packaging manufacturing lines
Ensure 100% compliance with ultrapure water reuse goals and hazardous waste minimization
Develop and manage design specifications for advanced treatment processes (precipitation, filtration, EDI/IX, AOP) and solids handling
Lead cross-functional teams for ZLD systems including RO, evaporation, and crystallization systems
Oversee and collaborate with engineering teams and EPC contractors to deliver facilities on aggressive timelines and within budget
