Brex is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead a new Travel team, owning a part of Brex's next-generation travel experience. You will shape the team's mandate, hire, and set the direction for both product and technology.

You will guide the team, balance product and technical tradeoffs, and ship a competitive travel product. This role emphasizes mentorship and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid Seattle-based environment.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
• Strong product sense with ability to defend UX tradeoffs.
• Staff-engineer level technical bar and broad operating ability.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new full-stack team for Brex's next-generation travel experience.
• Define and sharpen the team's mandate within the Travel group and its boundaries.
• Set technical and product direction, making tradeoffs on what to build and when.
• Ship a high-quality, reliable travel product while balancing velocity and foundation.
• Foster a people-centered culture with enablement, trust, and context-sharing.
• Partner cross-functionally across Travel, Expenses, and Product on scope and delivery.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers at all levels.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team builds and operates.
