Job summary

Flexicrew Technical Services seeks an Engineering Manager to lead engineering and detailing for structural steel fabrication projects in Texas. You will oversee outsourced teams, ensure accurate, fabrication-ready outputs, and align engineering with procurement, estimating, shop operations, and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes production-driven leadership, with success defined by clear, buildable engineering deliverables, on-time schedules, and minimized rework in the shop.

Qualifications

• Structural steel fabrication experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage outsourced engineering and detailing teams
• Deliver accurate, buildable drawings, connection designs, and Tekla models
• Ensure all designs are code-compliant, practical, in alignment with contract documents, and fabrication-ready
• Align engineering output with procurement deliverables, tracking system upload data, CNC files, shop capabilities, sequencing, and production schedules
• Coordinate with estimating to support bidding and project setup
• Interface with customers, EPC contractors, and customer engineering teams
• Identify and resolve issues before they impact fabrication or schedule
• Support continuous improvement in engineering quality, speed, and consistency
• Hands-on proficiency in Tekla Structures
• Experience importing BIM models (IFC, Revit, etc.) into Tekla/SDS2
• Ability to clean, validate, and manage model data for fabrication use
• Experience producing outputs that support shop drawings and CNC/automated equipment
