Loop is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the newly formed Support & Stability team from our HQ in Columbus and beyond. You’ll own high-risk domains, scale AI-driven automation, and drive permanent fixes to systemic issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management leadership experience, ideally including ownership of platform reliability or critical-domain code.
• Built or ran a proactive stability or support program, not just incident response.
• Experience distinguishing a one-off issue from a systemic problem and investing in permanent fixes.
• You use AI agents as a default part of how you and your team work with measurable impact.
• Ability to negotiate scope and ownership boundaries with other teams.
• Technical depth to review high-risk domain work and stay hands-on when needed.
• Experience managing performance and building psychological safety.
• You operate with intensity and maintain a high bar for yourself and others.

Responsibilities

• Own stewardship of the application's highest-risk, highest-impact domain areas, keeping them clean, tested, and maintainable.
• Build measurement systems for risk indicators like deployment frequency and ticket volume.
• Prioritize permanent fixes over repetitive tickets to reduce recurring issues.
• Lead the team's first-line triage of engineering support tickets and route as needed.
• Push for AI agents as the default for domain maintenance and support triage; review AI work rigorously.
• Directly drive AI adoption; provide support and time for skill growth and accountability.
• Develop prompts and automation to turn recurring problems into AI-detectable or AI-fixed issues.
• Define ownership boundaries and keep scope tight and defensible.
• Present team health and support trends to leadership and advocate for stability work.
• Run effective people management: set expectations, do regular 1:1s, give feedback, invest in growth.
• Maintain hands-on technical involvement to stay credible and unblock the team when needed.
