Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an engineering manager to lead the Short Form Experience Team. You’ll manage a team of 7 engineers building core learning features for our education platform, focusing on bite-sized exercises that reinforce recall and production in new languages.

You’ll work cross‑functionally with product, design, research and other engineers to set strategy, define OKRs, ensure reliability, and drive data‑driven experiments that improve learning KPIs while growing

Qualifications

• Experience leading, managing and building a software engineering team.
• Track record shipping multi‑engineer, multi‑week projects with business impact.
• Strong product instincts and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, product, design and data.
• Ability to guide architecture and mentor engineers on best practices.

Responsibilities

• Co‑lead a cross‑functional team with partners in product management, aligning on strategy, priorities, and success metrics.
• Drive execution from spec to implementation, experimentation, and ownership with reliability and observability.
• Use data and experiments to inform decisions and translate insights into product improvements.
• Attract, grow, and retain diverse engineering talent with coaching and career development.
• Set engineering quality standards, balance speed with maintainability, and manage tech debt.
• Collaborate with product, design, research and other teams to deliver impactful user experiences.
• Define team OKRs, prioritise ruthlessly and remove roadblocks.
