Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team building the foundational networking and connectivity systems powering AWS Lambda.

The role focuses on delivering exceptional availability and performance at scale while enabling serverless networking for new compute types and use cases. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, collaborate across teams, and own recruiting to build a high-performing, distributed systems organization that

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of skilled software engineers, inspiring innovation in serverless computing.
• Architect and develop core systems powering AWS Lambda's serverless auto-scaling capabilities, ensuring scalability, fault-tolerance, and high performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical roadmaps and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, driving adoption of new practices to enhance Lambda.
• Represent the team in technical discussions, advocating for priorities and solutions.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Manage recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of talented software engineers to achieve team goals.
