Job summary

Amazon Aurora DSQL is a serverless, distributed SQL database that scales compute and storage, delivers high availability, and remains compatible with PostgreSQL tooling. As a Software Development Manager on the DSQL Dataplane team, you will lead a strong team of engineers responsible for hot-path query execution and distributed system design.

You will mentor engineers with expertise in distributed systems, own the full development lifecycle of services, and partner with product and other teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• 3+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Lead a strong team of software engineers responsible for parts of the hot path of running queries.
• Mentor and coach a high-performing team with expertise in distributed systems and databases.
• Own the full development life cycle and operation of services.
• Collaborate with product teams and other engineering teams to shape roadmap and ensure delivery to customers.
