Engineering Manager - Security Standards and Hardening

This role involves leading security standards and hardening efforts for Ubuntu, the world's most widely used Linux distribution, impacting the security of millions globally. You will guide a team of security experts, develop security certifications, and collaborate with industry partners like CIS and DISA to enhance open source security across various platforms including desktops, servers, cloud, and edge devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers
• Mentor and provide career guidance
• Implement and improve engineering processes
• Represent your team to stakeholders
• Support compliance with security standards such as FIPS, CIS, STIG, FedRAMP, CRA
• Collaborate on cryptography modules and system hardening efforts

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background in STEM or equivalent experience
• Experience with FIPS, CIS, STIG, FedRAMP, CRA compliance
• Knowledge of cryptography (FIPS 140), Linux security, and industry standards
• Experience working in agile environments and leading teams
• Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred: Hands-on knowledge of Linux cryptography libraries like OpenSSL or GnuTLS.
