Job summary
Compass is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead high-performing squads that build the tools powering daily workflows for hundreds of thousands of real estate agents. You will translate business needs into technical requirements, unblock velocity, and ensure secure, scalable software on our centralized platform.
You will oversee a hybrid team of full-time engineers and contractors, mentor talent, enforce quality practices, collaborate with Product and Business stakeholders, and drive delivery
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong design patterns and APIs.
- 3+ years of direct people management leading software teams.
- Experience building SaaS/CRM or large-scale enterprise software.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day agile development processes of the engineering squad and prioritize deliverables.
- Mentor and grow a hybrid team of full-time engineers and contractors.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and corporate departments to translate workflows into technical specs.
- Enforce high-quality development practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
- Monitor performance, reliability, and scale to ensure robust, available systems.
- Write clear project plans and communication artifacts for stakeholders.
