Clever is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Classroom Experience team to lead the engineers building the Clever Portal—the daily starting point for millions of students and teachers. You will guide the roadmap, mentor staff, and push expansion into browser extensions and beyond, ensuring secure access to learning apps.

This high‑impact role partners with Product, Design, and Marketing to drive strategy while maintaining 99.98%+ uptime and a culture of continuous growth and inclusion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering leadership with a focus on mentoring engineers at all levels.
• 5+ years of software development with strong full‑stack fundamentals and system design.
• Experience with AI coding tools to improve workflow, productivity, and quality.
• Commitment to understanding and prioritizing Clever's engineering culture.
• Experience with operational change management and process improvement.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead distributed teams across functions.
• Demonstrated inclusive leadership building diverse teams where every voice is heard.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the Classroom Experience engineering team and our most visible products.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Marketing to define the roadmap and best practices.
• Hire, mentor, and develop software engineers while maintaining high standards.
• Drive accessible UIs and secure APIs to enable simple access to learning apps.
• Ensure reliability and uptime targets while fostering a culture of growth.
