Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an experienced Commerce Data Engineer to lead data architecture and taxonomize E2E data pipelines across the iTunes/App Store ecosystem.

You will build scalable storage, ensure privacy-safe data handling, and partner with teams to enable analytics, ML training, and reporting at scale. You will design large-scale backend data platforms, instrument data ingestion pipelines, and adopt new technologies in a fast-paced environment while upholding Apple’s privacy and security

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in developing ETL jobs for analyzing and processing high-volume data in Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka and Iceberg.
• Expert knowledge of one or more object-oriented programming languages (Scala/Java).
• Proficient at schema design, data modeling concepts and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.
• Ability to program in scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with streaming and batch data processing.
• Experience with GenAI tools to enhance developer efficiency
• BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering. MS preferred.

• Develop scalable data pipelines and storage solutions for high-volume commerce data
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability (metrics, monitoring, validation)
• Enable downstream use cases: analytics, reporting, insights, and ML model training/evaluation
• Optimize data accessibility and performance for multiple teams
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve systems
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, execution-focused mindset
