Job summary

Discord is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Safety Review, Enforcement, and Tooling squads in our SF office. You will steer three squads through automation, scale review decisions, and build tooling that keeps enforcement transparent and efficient.

You will partner with operations, ML, policy, and legal teams, grow the team, and drive regulatory compliance while maintaining strong performance and cost metrics. Relocation assistance is available and base salary ranges are competitive.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software engineer with backend & distributed systems experience.
• 2+ years in people management of engineers.
• Experience shipping production-grade LLM systems with measurable metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead three squads (Review, Enforce, Tooling) through tech leads.
• Push automation while maintaining precision and recall against human benchmarks.
• Own investigator tooling to shorten investigations and ensure traceability.
