Job summary

Affim is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Resilience Engineering team, focusing on production load testing and chaos engineering. You will guide platforms for safe production experimentation and partner with cross‑functional leaders to embed resilience into the software lifecycle.

You’ll drive safeguards, observability, and standardized workflows, enabling teams to test failure before failure tests them while balancing reliability with business needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in reliability or distributed systems.
• Hands-on with production load testing or chaos engineering.
• Experience with chaos engineering vendors such as Gremlin or Harness.
• Strong knowledge of failure modes in distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive resilience engineering vision and practices.
• Lead a team building platforms for safe production experimentation.
• Partner with infrastructure, product, and security leaders.
• Establish safeguards and governance for production tests.
• Own design of platforms enabling safe load testing and fault injection.
• Build end-to-end observability and auditability for resilience experiments.
• Enable teams with reusable tooling and workflows.
• Promote a culture of test-first resilience.
