Fisher Barton in Loves Park, IL is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function, align with manufacturing, sales and quality assurance, and develop the road map and technical direction to meet long-term business goals.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in mechanical design in manufacturing, strong leadership and Lean/Six Sigma experience, and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering design in manufacturing.
• Leadership experience in engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and failure analysis skills.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering required.
• Lean/Six Sigma CI experience.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Directs R&D, new product development and sustaining engineering.
• Provides ROI analysis and Capex reporting.
• Governs engineering prints, tooling, and product maintenance.
• Collaborates with manufacturing and QA on corrective actions.
• Develops engineering road map and direction with senior staff.
• Mentors staff and oversees performance.
• Supports sales quotations and customer part ID.
• Travels as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
