Job summary
Votaw Precision Technologies LLC seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the CNC manufacturing engineering group on site in California. You will troubleshoot floor issues, guide machinists, and optimize processes for large aerospace components.
You will review complex drawings, GD&T, and specifications, develop manufacturing plans, and ensure manufacturability with CATIA/SolidWorks and Epicor ERP integration. This role demands strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of CNC machining/manufacturing engineering experience with leadership.
- Expertise in 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining.
- Experience with VTL and CNC turning.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficient with CATIA and/or SolidWorks.
- Experience with ERP/MRP, preferably Epicor.
- Strong collaboration with machinists and production teams.
- Design tooling for CNC and release models.
- Stress analysis on tools.
- Manage multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering function supporting CNC manufacturing.
- Provide daily technical support on the shop floor.
- Review new jobs for requirements, risks, and machining strategies.
- Support continuous improvement in quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
- Review customer drawings, models, specifications, tolerances, and materials.
- Use CATIA and SolidWorks to review designs.
- Collaborate with planning to establish routes and lead times.
- Review CNC programs for manufacturability, tooling, and risks.
