Motion Recruitment Partners seeks an Engineering Manager, Platform Infrastructure in Newton, MA. Hybrid work arrangement. You will lead a team focused on platform engineering, automation, infrastructure, and developer enablement to accelerate software delivery.

You will modernize tooling, improve workflows, and drive reliability with AI-assisted processes. Strong collaboration with engineering leaders and a hands-on backend background are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on backend software engineering background.
• Experience working within cloud-native environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code practices and tools.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience improving engineering productivity and software delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team focused on platform engineering and infrastructure.
• Improve software development, testing, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Build scalable internal platforms that accelerate engineering productivity.
• Drive initiatives focused on automation, reliability, observability, and developer experience.
• Partner with engineering leaders to identify and eliminate delivery bottlenecks.
• Establish technical standards across CI/CD, infrastructure automation, testing, and monitoring.
• Evaluate emerging technologies that improve developer efficiency and software quality.
• Lead major platform initiatives from architecture through production rollout.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Contribute to long‑term platform and engineering strategy.
