About The Role
Chainlink decentralized oracle networks provide tamper-proof inputs, outputs, and computations to support advanced smart contracts on any blockchain. As the ecosystem continues to grow rapidly, we are building infrastructure to further secure our networks and incentivize good behavior.

As a software engineering manager on the Payments team, you will lead and grow a team of up to eight engineers to develop the on-chain billing and payments protocol within the Chainlink ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, operations, finance, and other teams to ensure the delivery of an intuitive backbone that enables Chainlink to scale across many products and chains. Your core team will consist of smart contract and software engineers, reporting to the engineering lead of Economics & Ecosystems.

Your Impact

1. Supporting and enabling up to eight engineers to be high impact and fostering their growth.
2. Using your understanding of product and engineering to ensure the team builds a scalable payments protocol across multiple chains and products.
3. Working with product and leadership to meet business goals, align scope, and set clear delivery expectations.
4. Ensuring continuity of work in a fast-evolving ecosystem that demands adaptability.
5. Collaborating on team processes, project management, and maintaining high team morale and productivity.
6. Contributing technically through code reviews and occasional coding.
7. Hiring talented engineers to strengthen the team and Chainlink Labs.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years in software engineering, including at least 2 years in leadership or management roles.
2. Servant leadership mindset with the ability to inspire and motivate.
3. Experience working on globally distributed teams with high ownership.
4. Proven track record delivering impactful products end-to-end on schedule and with quality.
5. Experience aligning with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and deliver successful products.

Preferred Requirements

1. Proficiency in Solidity, TypeScript, Go, SQL.
2. Experience developing on-chain smart contracts that create meaningful value.
3. Experience building reliable products for a global user base.
4. Experience working with teams across multiple time zones.
5. Active participation in the blockchain ecosystem as a user.
