Job summary

Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Stevenson Mill Engineering Department, guiding safety, environmental compliance, and the delivery of capital projects. This role partners with Corporate Engineering, Procurement, Finance and Legal to meet mill objectives.

You will manage internal resources and external support, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring projects deliver safety, reliability, quality and financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within the pulp and paper industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical and professional employees.
• Experience managing capital projects and cross-functional project teams.
• Working knowledge of pulp, paper, utilities, and power generation processes.
• Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite, JD Edwards, PI ProcessBook / PI Vision, Process control and data systems, Talent management systems

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the Stevenson Mill Engineering Department focusing on safety and environmental excellence.
• Manage internal engineering resources and coordinate external support to meet mill objectives.
• Oversee the mill capital portfolio and partner with Corporate Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Legal on large projects.
• Ensure timely project execution, cost management, and accurate reporting of results.
• Provide leadership to project engineers, managers, and external resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support operational improvement initiatives and drive sustainable solutions to recurring problems.
• Ensure projects deliver safety, reliability, quality, environmental, and financial results.
