Farnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager – Oil & Gas in the Charlotte, North Carolina location.
In this role you will manage multiple projects for oil and natural gas industry clients, coordinating engineering teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and overseeing staff development.

What You’ll Do
- Provide technical leadership and project management on various sized projects spanning gas and liquid clients, including mainline pipe and facilities.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating efforts with support groups to deliver a quality on‑time product and a financially successful project.
- Offer technical support as part of an engineering team on large or complex projects as needed.
- Develop projects from conceptual through final design, providing technical support and generating personnel and cost estimates.
- Ensure engineering, design, and drafting quality, compliance with standards, procedures, codes and ordinances, and adherence to project schedules.
- Manage and supervise personnel functions such as hiring, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, and employee development.
- Support office management, including annual budgets and related expenses, and collaborate on office events within budget.
- Lead or support proposal efforts, working with multiple disciplines and subcontractors to develop scope and competitive pricing.
- Participate in business development and assist the section manager in implementing the department business plan.
- Expand client relationships and support new client pursuits as needed.
- Prepare, review, and execute agreements for professional services.
What You’ll Need
- BS in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Petroleum Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
- 15+ years of experience, including engineering management in the oil, natural gas, or related industry.
- 5–10 years performing project work as a project manager with strong project management tools and best practices.
- High motivation and self‑starter attitude.
- General understanding and ability to interpret and apply DOT, API, ANSI, ASME, and owner regulations, codes, and standards.
- Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver’s license.

- Professional Project Manager (PMP) certification.
