Job summary

Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, seeks a Technical Manager to organize and lead a team of engineers and qualified professionals. You will craft vision, set strategy, and ensure delivery of mission objectives with accountability for staff development and performance.

The role requires a ABET-accredited engineering degree (or physical science), 7+ years in engineering, and ability to travel up to 20% while maintaining US

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution or a Bachelors degree in physical science from an accredited institution.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering or other related technical activities.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
• United States Citizenship.
• Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Responsibilities

• In partnership with technical leads and principals, develops a vision and strategy to assign work required to support mission objectives.
• Assures project accomplishments and team effectiveness meet objectives; leads staff development and accountability.
• Develops staffing plans, budgets, and equipment requirements; validates resource forecasts.
• Ensures adequate support services through internal and external teamwork to promote objectives.
• Implements business practices, metrics, and procedures to assure total quality of products and services.
• Directly supervises employees; handles interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Drives people strategy initiatives to improve development, engagement, and retention.
• Communicates from senior leadership to staff and escalates issues as needed.
