Checkr is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Mortgage Verifications team in San Francisco, CA. You will lead a team of engineers delivering end-to-end verification platform enhancements, including APIs, integrations, and AI/ML models powering verification decisions.

You will partner with product, own delivery direction, and drive AI adoption with guardrails while scaling in a high-stakes, regulated domain. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as an engineering manager.
• 8+ years as an engineer.
• Track record of rolling out AI adoption with guardrails and baselines.
• Experience leading in regulated, high-stakes domains.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery and technical direction for the Mortgage Verifications team as we scale our self-serve verification product through its next launch phases.
• Drive team-level AI adoption with guardrails and measurable impact on shipping.
• Co-own product direction with PM to shape problems and align stakeholders.
• Lead platform modernization while shipping features in a regulated, high-stakes domain.
• Manage production incidents as technical lead and communicator.
