Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering in Celebration, FL. You will lead an engineering team responsible for mobile, web, and backend solutions, balancing capital and expense initiatives while ensuring system reliability and performance.

You will partner with Disney Experiences Technology to deliver scalable software, coordinate vendor relationships, and drive innovation across shipboard and digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to develop the team.
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Development.
• Experience with software delivery lifecycle including web/mobile backend and multi-vendor environments.
• Experience with Java/J2EE architectures and cloud-based architected systems (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and on-premises ship deployments.
• Experience leading and recruiting technical teams across engineers, system/platform engineers, architects, and PMs.
• Experience with Agile development approaches.
• Proven experience in monitoring, supporting, and improving application availability and reliability.
• Advocate for diverse and inclusive culture fostering innovation and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgets and forecasting, ensure accurate billing and financial integrity.
• Manage an engineering team delivering software across multiple environments.
• Optimize delivery of large-scale software programs, align with goals and timelines.
• Coordinate external vendor relationships and contractual obligations.
• Identify opportunities for technology optimization and scalability.
• Build and drive a roadmap for a world-class support model and system health.
• Develop metrics for responsible systems and visualize trends.
• Contribute to estimation and planning with technical input, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
