Qualifications

  • 8 years of related manufacturing with at least 4 years in supervisory/management position overseeing technical/professional personnel.
  • Working knowledge of JIT manufacturing, cellularized manufacturing, FMEA, process flow diagram, CAD/CAM, ANSI, GD&T.
  • High mechanical aptitude and problem solving.

  • Administers personnel policies including performance appraisals, salary and classification changes, training, additions, etc.
  • Conducts regular group meetings to communicate direction, goals, and planning items.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $130,000.00 Annually

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for directing the technical and professional activities of the plant manufacturing engineering department which includes planning and initiation, applications, definitions of department goals and objectives, supervision of technical and professional personnel and budgetary management. Responsible for developing new, and competitive technology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs the activities of the manufacturing engineering group.
  • Initiates and conducts manufacturing engineering assignments, and determines methods of accomplishment, manpower and facilities utilization, coordination requirement and schedules for fulfillment of assignment.
  • Originates new manufacturing concepts to support attainment of company objectives.
  • Provides engineering liaison to marketing, QA, Product Engineering, Customers and suppliers.
  • Administers personnel policies including appraising performance, recommending salary and classification changes, employee training, employee additions, etc.
  • Conducts regular group meetings to communicate direction, goals, and planning items, resolve policy problems and keep employees well informed.
  • Prepares and/or reviews manufacturing engineering proposals. Reviews specifications and technical reports related to project assignments.
  • Reviews and issues manufacturing engineering cost estimates (methods, equipment and manpower utilization) process as applicable.
  • Assists in fiscal year budget preparation, planning and defining plant needs for capital expenditure requirements.
  • Controls all costs, budgets, procurements and other administrative matters affecting the departmental budget.
  • Provides techniques and experience relative to manufacturing activities beyond those currently being utilized.
  • Develops cost reduction programs.
  • May assume responsibility for assuring quality support through overseeing management of the plant maintenance and tool room functions.
  • Responsible for adherence to all company safety and housekeeping rules.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8 years of related manufacturing with at least 4 years in supervisory /management position overseeing technical/professional personnel.
  • Working knowledge of JIT manufacturing, cellularized manufacturing, FMEA, process flow diagram, CAD/CAM, ANSI, GD&T.
  • High Mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Physical demands required: Frequent reaching, talking, hearing, and near acuity. Occasional handling and fingering.
  • Environmental conditions: Exposure to moderate noise level.
