The Engineering Manager oversees the development and execution of engineering projects, manages budgets, and supervises multiple teams. This role collaborates with other management personnel, provides direction to engineering teams, and ensures successful project completion on time and within budget. The Engineering Manager also leads research and development efforts for new designs, products, and processes, while maintaining technical accuracy and coordinating work across managers and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, implement, and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes
- Manage staff and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel
- Lead teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes
- Oversee project logistics and resource allocation
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction across processes and product designs
- Secure resources needed for team success, including researching and proposing capital investments
- Develop and manage project budgets, applying cost-management strategies
- Attend trade shows and conferences, and conduct site visits to supplier facilities
- Advocate for team members by securing the resources they need to succeed
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and customers
- Maintain a high level of expertise in the relevant engineering field or sector
- Ensure all processes meet quality and safety compliance standards
- Collaborate with other team leaders and departments across the organization
- Set strategic and technical direction for multiple engineering and technical teams
- Oversee the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process, ensuring changes are completed and communicated to all affected parties
- Support SAP implementation across all product lines
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to follow
- Support assembly operations by providing jigs and fixtures needed to build conveyors, MCP systems, and sorters
- Propose and manage budgets and timelines for engineering projects
- Review and verify the accuracy of work performed and methods used by engineering staff
- Conduct tests and quality assurance checks to confirm the quality of completed projects
- Partner with Centers of Excellence to ensure information is understood and communicated effectively
- Facilitate communication between clients/customers and engineers to ensure specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly understood
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, materials, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve product lines and production efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree in Engineering or MBA a plus
- 6+ years of experience in project management
- 1–2 years of management/supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to design and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes
- Strong staff management and task delegation skills
- Proven leadership in developing new products, solutions, and processes
- Experience overseeing project logistics, budgets, and resource allocation
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Solid understanding of quality and safety compliance standards
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers

The employee is frequently required to stand and sit, and occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and/or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
