Job summary

Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in maintaining guest rooms, facilities, and critical utilities, while developing preventive maintenance and capital projects.

You will manage budgets, coordinate renovations, oversee contractor performance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Partner with hotel leadership to protect asset value and guest satisfaction; flexibility for evenings, weekends and emergencies is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Building Manager or similar facilities role.
• Degree, diploma, or certification in Engineering, Building Operations, Facilities Management, or related trade; Journeyman license is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, water treatment).
• OSHA safety certifications and handling of chemicals and solvents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the engineering team; establish performance standards.
• Maintain schedules to minimize guest disruption and maximize productivity.
• Prepare and manage annual/monthly maintenance budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee purchasing, vendor contracts, and capital projects within budgets.
• Plan and monitor preventive maintenance programs and lifecycle planning.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, fire/life safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate renovations and monitor contractor performance; manage safety programs.
• Participate in Health & Safety and Environmental Committees.
