Job summary

Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra is seeking an Engineering Manager to assist the Director of Engineering in daily maintenance operations, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance and projects are completed on time and to high standards. You will help develop strategies to maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness while promoting a safe work environment.

The role includes supervising maintenance staff, planning and administering schedules, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and safety

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years in building maintenance with at least 2 years supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting/wallcovering, A/C and refrigeration.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Valid Hawaii driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb, and work weekends/nights/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Manages day-to-day operations of the engineering team.
Supervises building maintenance incl. preventive maintenance and repairs.
Assists in recruitment, training, scheduling and payroll for engineering team.
Develops plans to maintain property, equipment, and fixtures in good working order.
Ensures property compliance with local, state and federal laws.
Provides reports and bid reviews for repairs or projects.
Maintains relationships with contractors and vendors.
Monitors the preventive maintenance program and schedules/plans accordingly.
Ensures the Engineering shop is safe and well-equipped.
