Job summary

LMI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Army logistics data products team. This is an engineering-forward management role, combining supervision with hands-on work in architecture, data engineering, ontology, and production delivery.

You will guide a team, work with government stakeholders, and ensure data products are reliable and secure for operational use, while mentoring engineers and driving critical missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data delivery.
• Experience supervising technical professionals.
• Hands-on with Python, SQL, and modern data-engineering practices.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or Army Vantage.
• Data modeling, ontology development, data integration, and data-quality management.
• Strong fundamentals: testing, source control, CI/CD, production monitoring.
• Experience with a DoD customer and security clearance.
• Excellent customer-facing and executive communication.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Own development and sustainment of authoritative Army logistics data products.
• Lead and supervise a team of data engineers and data scientists.
• Hands-on with data architecture, pipelines, ontology, code review, and troubleshooting.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, lineage, testing, source control, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Work with government stakeholders to translate logistics needs into technical priorities and deliverable capabilities.
• Ensure data products are reliable, traceable, secure, and suitable for operational use.
• Develop engineers through technical direction, mentoring, feedback, and performance management.
• Provide trusted data foundations for downstream analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning use cases.
