Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC in Arlington, VA and US-Remote is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for authoritative Army logistics data products under the ELISS program. You will stay hands-on with data architecture, ontology development, and production delivery while guiding engineering strategy.

This role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 10+ years in data engineering or software engineering, and an active DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IS/Data Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data delivery.
• Experience managing or supervising technical professionals.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL and modern data-engineering practices.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or similar platforms.
• Experience with data modeling, ontology development, data integration, and data-quality management.
• Strong CI/CD, testing, source control, and production monitoring skills.
• Active DoD and security clearance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and sustainment of authoritative Army logistics data products.
• Lead and supervise a team of data engineers and data scientists.
• Remain hands-on with data architecture, pipelines, ontology, code review, and troubleshooting.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, lineage, testing, source control, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to translate logistics needs into technical priorities.
• Ensure data products are reliable, traceable, secure, and suitable for operational use.
• Mentor engineers through technical direction, feedback, and performance management.
• Provide foundations for downstream analytics, AI/ML use cases.
