Responsibilities

• Initiates, evaluates progress and presents results of projects.
• Provides technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co-workers.
• Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems.
• Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
• Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports and guides product engineering teams in ongoing development within their area.
• Supervises and coordinates product research, testing, design and development.
• Promotes the New Product Development process and ensures consistent use.
• Interfaces with customers regarding design, manufacturing and quality control issues.
• Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Reports on project status, budgets, and customer satisfaction data.
• Develops new technologies, process improvements and cost reduction programs.
• Proposes business solutions related to product safety initiatives and long-term planning.
• Performs managerial duties including interviewing, hiring, coaching and budgeting.
