Job summary

Systematic Business Consulting in Peoria, IL is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented engineering team and drive innovation, quality, and continuous improvement in the design and delivery of complex industrial equipment.

You will lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering Department while managing priorities, resources, and project workloads. Travel to customer sites will be occasional; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, or related industry.
• 2+ years engineering leadership or management experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams across multiple projects.
• PE license preferred; SE license a plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering Department.
• Manage engineering priorities, resources, and project workloads.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Partner with Sales, Project Management, Production, Procurement, and Installation teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support problem-solving, process improvements, and engineering best practices.
• Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence.
