Job summary

NCE Engineering Manager role in South Lake Tahoe, NV, USA, leads the Lake Tahoe basin engineering practice with a focus on water resources, transportation infrastructure, and alpine environments. This senior position oversees multi-disciplinary teams, drives business development, and works with senior leadership to expand capabilities across northern Nevada and California.

Responsibilities include leadership of junior staff, client management, scoping and budgeting, and ensuring quality control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, hydrology, or related field
• Licensed engineer in the State of California or Nevada or able to obtain registration within six months of being hired
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience, preferably with a consulting practice
• Minimum of 5 years managing teams of technical professionals in the engineering or related field
• Master’s degree in engineering, hydrology, or related field
• Experience working in alpine environment
• Experience working in the Lake Tahoe basin and knowledge of Lake Tahoe basin agencies and regulations

Responsibilities

• Leadership – Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team, work with senior colleagues to achieve strategic and business plan goals, and recruit talented professionals
• Business Development – Collaboratively work with senior technical leaders and NCE’s business development team to identify and win work, manage clients, and develop scopes and fees
• Project Management and Technical Delivery – Manage projects, technical teams, and client expectations. Oversee the development and delivery of design processes, engineering products, and quality control engineering deliverables
