Job summary

Natera in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to own and rebuild the Lab Execution Platform for Women’s Health. You’ll lead a small, agile team, guide architects, and partner with Lab Operations and R&D to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions that improve lab throughput and patient outcomes.

You’ll stay hands-on, drive a modern tech stack with Python, TypeScript and React, and champion AI-enabled tooling. The role emphasizes collaboration, fast delivery, and a healthy team culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building software applications.
• Track record of leading and growing high‑performing engineering teams.
• Expertise in Python, TypeScript, and React, with strong front‑end development chops.
• Proficiency with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Glue) and infrastructure as code.
• Strong relational database skills (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and SQL programming.
• Experience with messaging frameworks such as Kafka.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and maintenance of both the off‑the‑shelf and custom Lab Execution platforms, keeping high‑throughput lab processes running without a hitch.

• Stay hands‑on—dive into the code and test the system yourself to make it better.
• Build and scale cloud‑based microservices and front‑end applications that power real lab workflows.

• Own the CI/CD pipeline and lock in quality with automated testing.
• Architect infrastructure that scales effortlessly and stays cost‑smart.
