HighLevel is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead and scale our SDET team, driving automation strategy and quality across products. You will mentor engineers, establish robust testing frameworks and partner with development and release teams to ship reliable software.

The role emphasizes shifting testing left, harnessing GenAI tools to boost productivity, and building scalable automation for web, mobile, and API layers within a remote-first, international team.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring a large SDET team.
• Hands-on background as a Test Automation Architect with TypeScript/Playwright.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud environments, and development workflows.
• Experience with API testing, performance testing, and mobile test automation.
• Advocate for Shift-Left Testing and scalable automation frameworks.
• History building testing infra for microservices or cloud-native apps.
• Experience scaling teams in fast-paced product orgs and mentoring engineers.
• Interest in leveraging GenAI to boost testing productivity and intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs focused on automation, performance, and reliability.
• Define and execute end-to-end test automation strategy across web, mobile, and API layers.
• Champion Shift-Left Testing and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Dev Managers to improve release quality, coverage, and speed.
• Set benchmarks for automation quality, performance, and code standards.
• Build and optimize TypeScript/Playwright frameworks for scalable test suites.
• Oversee release readiness, test planning, and quality gates for major launches.
• Drive GenAI initiatives to enhance testing productivity and intelligence.
• Ensure strong coverage across functional, non-functional, and security testing.
• Provide architectural guidance on testing strategy, tooling, and infra.
• Foster continuous improvement and accountability within the SDET org.
