Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Schaumburg, IL seeks an Engineering Manager for HSIO connectors to lead design, qualification and global launch of next-generation High-Speed I/O products. You will guide a worldwide engineering organization, partner with customers and sales, and own products from concept through production.

This leadership role offers high visibility, mentoring opportunities, and collaboration with manufacturing partners, including China, to deliver market-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program.
• 10 to 15+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• 5 to 10+ years of project and/or people management experience.
• Experience with global teams, customers, and manufacturing partners required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to a global HSIO connectors engineering team.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent to build a high-performing team.
• Own end-to-end project execution from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Design, NPI, Operations, and Manufacturing teams, including partners in China.
• Approve engineering deliverables including drawings, BOMs, and item masters.
• Perform mechanical simulations, FEA, and tolerance analyses to ensure robust designs.
• Ensure designs meet cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets.
• Engage with customers and Sales to define product roadmaps and delivery timelines.
