Job summary

Google Sunnyvale is seeking an Engineering Manager for Gmail Security and Safety to lead a portfolio of security initiatives and a team of software engineers. You will own outcomes, manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, and mentor engineers across projects.

As a leader, you will partner with Workspace Abuse & Safety Protections to reduce abuse, build secure rollout of country-level data regions, and harden critical security mechanisms such as Keystore and RPC Security Policy while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java or Go.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience managing a security team or as a technical lead for a security team.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a wide portfolio of projects to improve security and trust in Gmail.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Own the improvement, hardening, modernization and maintenance of critical security mechanisms such as Keystore, RPC Security Policy, BCID.
• Collaborate with Workspace Abuse & Safety Protections to reduce abuse and ensure secure deployments.
