Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead globally distributed teams responsible for index management platforms and operational workflows.

You will drive end-to-end delivery, set technical direction, and modernize legacy systems toward cloud-native architectures while ensuring security, resilience, and operational excellence across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams responsible for complex technology products and platforms.
• Strong architectural depth with ability to guide decisions credibly.
• Experience designing scalable, data-intensive applications and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Extensive knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL).
• Proficiency in OO languages (Java, C#, .NET, Python) and API/microservices design.
• Experience with modern web apps (Angular/React) and HTML/CSS.
• Strong AWS cloud understanding and services (RDS, EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead globally distributed engineering teams delivering and operating critical platforms.
• Own end-to-end delivery of scalable, secure technology solutions for index management and workflows.
• Provide technical and architectural direction for platform modernization.
• Ensure designs meet maintainability, scalability, security, and resilience standards.
• Drive cloud-native modernization and adoption of AI-assisted engineering where beneficial.
• Establish engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, observability, automation and security.
• Mentor engineers, leads and other managers to strengthen technical leadership depth.
