Job summary
Starbucks is seeking an Engineering Manager for the GenAI Platform to lead a team of platform engineers focused on observability, AI-driven tooling, and multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. You will define the platform roadmap, drive reliability targets, and mentor engineers to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions for partner and customer experiences.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional industry experience with software development.
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including direct people-management responsibilities.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, developer workflows, and tools.
- Experience building platforms, developer tooling, or shared infrastructure used by other teams.
- Experience in setting up observability tools for large enterprises (Splunk, Datadog, New Relic).
- Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
- Solid understanding of modern AI architectures and techniques including prompt engineering and RAG.
- Experience with agentic AI systems and related tooling.
Responsibilities
- Leads team of platform engineers to support GenAI Accelerator charter.
- Defines and drives observability policy and reliability targets with SLIs/SLOs.
- Owns incident management lifecycle from detection to RCA.
- Develops AI agents/tools for observability and developer workflow automation.
- Builds and evolves enterprise-grade telemetry pipelines and OpenTelemetry implementations.
- Partners with cross-functional teams and external vendors to advance platform tooling.
