Job summary

Vesuvius USA in Champaign, Illinois seeks a senior engineering leader to manage the Flow Control Systems Engineering Department. The role includes directing three Mechanical Engineers and one VIE Engineer, planning assignments, and ensuring timely, high‑quality designs.

You will review designs, develop options, update manuals, pursue product improvements, and collaborate with Project Managers, Sales, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to meet customer requirements. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years in manufacturing or industrial field preferred, with 3+ years with Vesuvius or similar
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage, plan and delegate department assignments and review progress.
• Oversee design and adaptation of mechanical equipment for customer needs.
• Review and generate drawings; support product releases from R&D.
• Provide technical assistance to project managers, sales regions, manufacturing and suppliers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
• Travel up to 15% as required.
