Job summary

Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team building the Experimentation App. You will own one to two squads to start, partnering with engineers, statisticians, product managers, and designers to translate a deep roadmap into shipped features.

We value someone with 2-3 years of people-management experience and 5+ years of software delivery, who can balance speed and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• > 2-3 years experience as a people manager, or as a technical leader with mentorship skills.
• 5+ years experience building and shipping software, with a strong technical background that lets you engage credibly on architecture and tradeoffs.
• Experience shipping products in a fast-paced environment, balancing speed with quality and using customer input as a primary signal.
• energized by ambiguity and a large roadmap, you help your team prioritize and sequence work.
• Strong stakeholder management, empathy, collaboration, and clear communication with engineers and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of strong full-stack and frontend engineers.
• Own delivery for the Experimentation App from planning through production, balancing speed with quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Set technical direction in partnership with the team and statistics engineers, engaging on architecture and tradeoffs.
• Partner with Product, Design, and customers to shape requirements and turn input into roadmap.
• Foster a culture of fast iteration and high engineering standards through code reviews and design reviews.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent as the team scales.
