Job summary

nVent in Millington, MD seeks an experienced engineering leader to direct Mechanical and Electrical teams, aligning resources with the Annual Operating Plan and driving engineering rigor, velocity, and schedule in an Engineered To Order environment.

You will coach leaders, develop onboarding, coordinate offshore resources, and foster a culture of continuous improvement focused on quality, delivery and capability development at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering‑related area required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience; 10+ preferred.
• 4+ years of technical team leadership experience.
• Experience in ETO engineering operations, process improvement, or technical program leadership.
• Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes pertaining to control buildings and engineering docs.
• Sheet metal experience preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Strong interpersonal and planning skills with an agile mindset.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site Engineering organization of Mechanical and Electrical teams to achieve and exceed Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
• Lead and prioritize engineering resources and initiatives with other site functions to meet customer and business demands.
• Coordinate with multiple functions in the ETO process to balance rigor, velocity, schedule, and flexibility.
• Provide technical and strategic leadership aligned to long‑term product architecture and business goals.
• Coach and mentor leadership within the building framework and power systems functions to achieve Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency targets.
• Develop and maintain onboarding programs aligned to defined engineering standards.
• Coordinate offshore/contract engineering resources for scalable capacity and consistent quality.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture to exceed customer expectations.
• Implement standard design practices with clear direction, coaching, and accountability across the team.
